Kupwara, Dec 10 (JKNS): The District Administration Kupwara on Wednesday organised a Special Awareness-cum-Registration Mela under Mission YUVA at Dak Bungalow Tangdar. The event recorded an overwhelming participation from aspiring entrepreneurs, Mission Yuva applicants, and local youth seeking information and registration under the flagship self-employment programme.

The programme was chaired by Mr. Mufti Muhammad Farid-ud-din, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, who reiterated the Government’s unwavering commitment to empowering youth through entrepreneurship, access to finance, and market-linked support.

Addressing the gathering, he urged young participants to transform their ideas into viable livelihood ventures with the comprehensive handholding offered under Mission YUVA.

Mr. Faheem Hamid (Incharge Helpdesk, Mission YUVA) presented an overview of the scheme and highlighted the increasing relevance of self-employment in the backdrop of the growing unemployment scenario.

Mr. Tanveer Ahmad (LDM, Kupwara) briefed participants on the role of financial institutions in facilitating Mission Yuva cases and assured full support from all bank branches for the timely processing of youth applications.

The event was attended by Col. Sudeep Bose (Deputy Commandant), Mr. Mohd. Amin Bhat (Tehsildar Tangdhar), Mr. Mudasir Sikander (BDO Tangdhar), Mr. Azmat Hussain (District Nodal Officer, JKEDI) and officers from other allied departments, who interacted with applicants and addressed their queries.

The ADDC Kupwara also heard the grievances of applicants and the public and assured timely redressal through coordinated efforts of the District Administration and concerned departments.

Participants expressed appreciation for the District Administration and the banking institutions for conducting this extensive outreach programme in the border area, enabling easy access to government services and financial support.

ADDC Kupwara, along with Col. Sudeep Bose and LDM Kupwara, distributed sanction letters to 42 beneficiaries under Mission YUVA, marking a significant milestone in extending entrepreneurial support to the youth of the Tangdar region. (JKNS)
