Karnah, Dec 16 (JKNS): GOC Kupwara, M. K. Nair, today paid his maiden visit to the historic Sharda Temple located at the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, Karnah, Kashmir. He was accompanied by his family members during the visit.
The GOC paid obeisance at the temple and performed puja, expressing reverence at this important symbol of cultural and spiritual heritage.
He was received at the temple by the Coordinator, Shri Ajaz Khan, who presented him with a traditional Sharda shawl and a souvenir as a mark of respect.
The visit was also attended by the local commander, Brigadier Pradhan of the 104 Shakti Brigade. GOC Kupwara appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Save Sharda Committee, led by its founder Shri Ravinder Pandita, for the reconstruction and revival of this historic temple, which stands as a powerful symbol of inter-faith harmony in the last village of North India.
