J&K Administration Sets Up Panel to Examine Santosh Trophy Team Selection

Srinagar, Dec 17 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a formal enquiry into the selection process of the J&K football team chosen for the 79th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2025.

According to Government Order No. 50-JK(YSS) issued by commissioner secretary youth services and sports as per news agency JKNS stated that an enquiry committee has been constituted to scrutinize the procedure followed in selecting the team and to establish the factual position within a stipulated timeframe.

The committee will be led by Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Ms. Anuradha Gupta, JKAS, and will comprise senior officials from different government departments along with experienced sports functionaries. The Director General has also been empowered to induct two former national-level footballers, one each from the Jammu and Kashmir regions, to assist in the enquiry.

As per the mandate, the panel will carry out a detailed examination of the selection mechanism and submit its findings along with recommendations to the government within seven days.

To ensure transparency, the government has also provided for public participation in the process. Interested members of the public will be given an opportunity to share inputs and submit comments by meeting the enquiry committee on three designated days each in Jammu and Srinagar. (JKNS)
