Srinagar, Dec 17 (JKNS): India’s renowned political strategist Prashant Kishor is set to visit the Kashmir Valley from February 2 to February 5, 2026, to interact with students, young professionals, and youth leaders across party lines.
The visit aims to foster informed dialogue, leadership development, and democratic engagement among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir through a series of interactive programmes and discussions across multiple districts.
Speaking about the visit, Nasir Khuehami who is coordinating Prashant Kishors’ visit and has prepared the visit’s route and interaction plan, in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS said, that as part of the programme, Prashant Kishor will participate in a Youth Interaction Programme on February 2 at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association. The programme will bring together Kashmiri students and youth leaders across party lines, offering a rare and inclusive platform for open dialogue, mentorship, and constructive engagement.
During his stay in the Valley, Kishor is expected to hold multiple interactive sessions with students and young leaders in Srinagar, Bandipora, Baramulla, and other areas, focusing on contemporary political discourse, democratic participation, governance challenges, and leadership development. These interactions aim to bridge the long-standing gap in exposure faced by Kashmiri youth in areas such as public policy, political communication, campaign strategy, governance reforms, data analytics, voter behaviour research, grassroots mobilisation, and narrative building.
Khuehami stated that the visit is intended to provide Kashmiri youth with national-level exposure and practical insights into democratic institutions and governance processes. He noted that despite strong academic credentials and significant grassroots experience, many students from the region continue to face limited access to structured mentorship, professional policy ecosystems, and decision-making platforms. He said that several political leaders and MLAs have reached out for meetings. Khuehami added that, Prashant Kishor is also scheduled to interact with high-profile political leaders during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
Kishor, who has designed and led high-impact election campaigns for the Prime Minister of India, several Chief Ministers, Members of Parliament, Union Ministers, and major national and regional political parties, has consistently emphasised the importance of ethical leadership, evidence-based policymaking, and youth participation in strengthening democracy. During the proposed interactions, he is expected to share insights on career pathways, ethical leadership, election management, governance diagnostics, survey-based research, campaign war-room functioning, messaging strategies, and outcome-oriented policy execution.
The visit is being viewed as a significant opportunity for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to engage directly with one of India’s foremost political minds, strengthen their confidence, and participate in informed, issue-based dialogue beyond partisan boundaries. The initiative also seeks to encourage responsible and constructive participation of young people in nation-building, governance, and democratic public life. (JKNS)
