Srinagar, Dec 18 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has asked all government employees to compulsorily submit their Annual Property Returns (APR) for the year 2025 through the online Property Return System (PRS) Portal within the prescribed deadline, warning of strict action in case of non-compliance.

As per Circular No. 26-JK(GAD) of 2025 issued by the GAD (Vigilance) as per news agency JKNS, submission of annual property details is mandatory under Section 9 of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Servants Declaration of Assets and Other Provisions Act, 1983. The law requires every public servant to declare assets owned by them and their family members in January each year, clearly indicating the source of any increase in assets.

The circular makes it clear that failure to submit the property returns without valid justification will invite penalties under the Prevention of Corruption Act and may amount to criminal misconduct. Non-filing of APRs will also lead to denial of Vigilance Clearance, it cautions.

To ensure transparency and ease, the government has made online filing through the PRS Portal mandatory. Employees can file their returns on https://prs.jk.gov.in from January 1, 2026, while the portal will automatically close on January 31, 2026.

Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been directed to ensure registration of all unregistered employees on the PRS Portal and to achieve 100 percent compliance within the stipulated timeframe.

The government has reiterated that the deadline is final and no extension beyond January 31, 2026, will be allowed. (JKNS)
