Srinagar, Dec 22 (JKNS): Security and checking operations were intensified across various parts of Srinagar on Monday as part of routine measures to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure public safety, officials said.
As per news agency JKNS, joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF were deployed at key intersections, market areas and other busy corridors of the city. During the exercise, vehicles were stopped for checking, documents were verified, and commuters were briefly questioned.
Officials said the checks were aimed at maintaining alertness in crowded areas and ensuring smooth movement amid the ongoing winter rush.
They described the exercise as a preventive security measure undertaken to strengthen the overall security grid and maintain public order.
The move reflects the multi-agency surveillance mechanism in place to monitor movement and uphold safety across the city, officials added.
A senior police officer told JKNS that such security measures are part of general alertness to keep a close watch on any suspicious movement or activities of miscreants. (JKNS)
