Srinagar, Dec 25 (JKNS): In a bid to ensure winter preparedness and safe connectivity, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag, Prince Kumar, IAS, along with the Tehsildar Larnoo, conducted an on-spot inspection of the Daksum-Sinthan Top–Chhatroo Road (NH-244) to assess snow clearance operations, road conditions and deployment of machinery and manpower at vulnerable stretches.
As per news agency JKNS, During the inspection, the SDM interacted with personnel deployed at Daksum Naka and reviewed arrangements for traffic regulation on the ground. He directed the field staff to ensure that no frosting or slippery surfaces develop at shadow-prone locations and instructed that urea, salt or other suitable de-icing material be sprayed at identified vulnerable spots to prevent ice formation and ensure safe vehicular movement.
Following the inspection and completion of snow clearance work, the general public has been informed that the Daksum-Sinthan Top-Chhatroo Road (NH-244) has been opened for vehicular traffic from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, subject to prevailing weather and road conditions.
Authorities have advised commuters to exercise caution and strictly adhere to the instructions issued by the Traffic Police and field staff. Further regulation of traffic on the route will be undertaken based on weather conditions and safety assessments. (JKNS)
