Srinagar, Dec 26 (JKNS): A 35-year-old CBI Public Prosecutor, who was critically injured in a road accident near Banihal on Thursday afternoon, succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning while undergoing treatment, casting a pall of gloom over the legal fraternity and his native area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir.
As per news agency JKNS, the accident occurred on Thursday when an Alto car (JK10), driven by Advocate Sheikh Adil Nabi, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh and a resident of Bijbehara, Anantnag, was travelling from Banihal towards Kashmir. On crossing near the railway at Banihal, the vehicle was hit by a Scorpio, resulting in critical injuries to Sheikh Adil.
He was immediately shifted to SDH Banihal for first aid, later referred to GMC Anantnag and subsequently taken to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment, where he breathed his last on Friday morning, official sources said.
Adil had recently cleared the UPSC examination and joined as a Public Prosecutor with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Chandigarh. (JKNS)
