Jammu, Jan 2 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has designated a senior administrative officer as the Nodal Officer for overseeing the management of stray dogs across the Union Territory.
As per Government Order No. 02-JK (JSD) of 2026, as per news agency JKNS, Suheel Ahmad Lone, JKAS, Deputy Secretary in the Jal Shakti Department, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer at the Administrative Department level for stray dog management.
The order further specifies that Technical Officers attached to the offices of all Chief Engineers of the Jal Shakti Department have also been entrusted with the role of Nodal Officers within their respective jurisdictions to ensure effective coordination and implementation of measures related to stray dog control.
The move is aimed at strengthening inter-departmental coordination, improving monitoring mechanisms, and ensuring systematic execution of policies concerning stray dog management across Jammu and Kashmir.
The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and has been signed by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Jal Shakti Department, Shaleen Kabra, IAS. (JKNS)
