Kokernag, Jan 2 (JKNS): The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag has imposed a complete prohibition on trekking, camping, hiking and similar outdoor activities in the high-altitude areas of Margan Top, Chauhar Nag and Sinthan Top, citing serious security and public safety concerns.
According to an order issued by SDM Kokernag Prince Kumar (IAS) as per news agency JKNS, inputs received from police and security agencies have highlighted potential security risks in certain forested and high-altitude zones of the sub-division.

Invoking powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, the SDM ordered an immediate ban on all such outdoor activities in the specified areas.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Larnoo has been directed to ensure strict enforcement of the order and regulate movement at all naka and check-points.
The general public has been advised to strictly comply with the directive, with the administration warning that any violation will invite legal action.
The prohibition will remain in force for a period of two months from the date of issuance, unless withdrawn earlier or extended as per law. (JKNS)
