Jammu, Jan 3 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Saturday summoned the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory to convene its session at Jammu on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
According to the summon issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the order has been issued by the Lieutenant Governor in exercise of powers conferred under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019. All Hon’ble Members of the Legislative Assembly have been requested, under Rule 3 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J&K Legislative Assembly, to make it convenient to attend the session on the appointed date, time and place.
In a separate bulletin, the Legislative Assembly Secretariat said that the Lieutenant Governor, in exercise of powers under Section 21(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, has also called upon the Members of the Legislative Assembly to assemble in the Legislative Assembly Complex, Jammu, on February 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM to hear his address.
Another bulletin issued by the Secretariat informed that the Legislative Assembly has formally been summoned to meet at Jammu on February 2, 2026, and all Hon’ble Members are accordingly requested to submit notices for legislative business within the prescribed timelines.
Members have been asked to submit not more than ten starred and ten unstarred questions, in relaxation of Rule 32, by or before January 12, 2026. Notices for not more than two Bills, in relaxation of sub-rule (3) of Rule 65, are to be submitted by January 15, 2026, while notices for not more than four resolutions, under Rule 174, are to be sent by or before January 17, 2026.
All submissions are to be made in accordance with the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the Secretariat added. (JKNS)
