Kashmir Reports 11 Fire Incidents in a Day, Multiple Damage Reported

Srinagar, Jan 6 (JKNS): At least eleven fire incidents were reported from different parts of the Kashmir Valley during the last 24 hours, causing damage to residential structures, cow sheds, hay stacks, forest trees and other property, officials said on Tuesday.

According to Fire and Emergency Services as per news agency JKNS, timely response by fire tenders ensured that all the incidents were brought under control, preventing any loss of human life. However, property including cow sheds, residential houses, dry grass, forest trees, a chinar tree, hay stacks and a gas cylinder suffered damage in the incidents.

The fire incidents were reported from areas including Rawalpora Matipota Ajas in Bandipora, Royal Spring Golf Course near Lalit Ghat Srinagar, Pehlipora Safapora in Ganderbal, Wazibagh Char-e-Sharief and Soibugh in Budgam, Mandipora Dooru, Laditahwot and Sheikhpora Sallar in Anantnag, Gujar Basti Zainapora in Pulwama, Wazirbagh near LD Bagh Srinagar and Kachloo Qaziabad in Kupwara.

An official said the swift and coordinated action of the Fire and Emergency Services personnel helped contain the fires quickly, minimizing damage. No injuries or fatalities were reported in any of the incidents.

Meanwhile, the department has once again appealed to the public to strictly adhere to fire safety norms, exercise caution while using electrical appliances and gas cylinders, and immediately inform the nearest fire station in case of any fire outbreak to avoid major losses. (JKNS)
