Srinagar, Jan 7 (JKNS): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a high-level committee for valuation of assets in connection with LPA No. 107/2025 titled UT of J&K & Others versus Sanjeev Bhagat & Others, as per an order issued by the General Administration Department.

According to Government Order No. 27-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated January 7, 2026 as per news agency JKNS, the committee will be headed by the Special Secretary to the Government, Cooperative Department, as Chairman.

The panel will include senior representatives, not below the rank of Additional Secretary, from the General Administration Department, Revenue Department, Public Works (R&B) Department, and the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. The Additional Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Jammu (Liquidator), has been designated as the Member Secretary of the committee.

As per the terms of reference, the committee has been tasked with assessing the value of assets of the Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Federation (JAKFED) and determining the depreciated current market value of buildings and structures constructed by JAKFED on State land to arrive at the overall asset valuation.

The committee will be serviced by the Additional Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Jammu (Liquidator), and has been directed to submit its report to the Cooperative Department within 15 days from the issuance of the order for further course of action. (JKNS)
