Karnah, Jan 7 (JKNS): A major political development unfolded in Karnah on Tuesday as Khalid Shujaat Budhana, son of renowned Gujjar leader Abdul Rehman Budhana, joined the National Conference (NC) along with dozens of his active workers.
Several individuals from other political parties also announced their decision to join the NC on the occasion.
The joining ceremony was held at Dak Bungalow, Karnah, and was presided over by senior National Conference leader and former MLA Javed Ahmed Mirchal.
According to party officials, those who joined the National Conference include Khalid Shujaat Budhana, Mohd Yaseen Chachi (former Range Officer), Bagu Chowdhary (Retd. SI), Bashir Boken (Retd. SI), Showkat Ali Chachi, Mohd Mir Alam Chachi, Munshi Saif-ud-Din Budhana, Mohd Shafi Chohan, Siraj-ud-Din Chohan, Nazir Ahmed Budhana, Syed Mehboob Shah (Haji), Haji Ghulam Hassan Lone, Parvaiz Ahmad Chachi, Shabir Ahmad Khattana, Imtiyaz Chachi, Mohd Sadiq Awan, Jameel Ahmad Moyana, Mohd Aslam Chachi, Mohd Shafi Boken, Shams-ud-Din Chachi, Nazir Ahmed Paswal, Farooq Ahmad Chachi, Hakim-ud-Din Khattana, Imtiyaz Ahmed Khattana, Zameer Ahmad Lone, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan, Rafaqat Hussain, Ghulam Mustafa Chachi, and Molvi Iqbal Budhana.
Most of the newly inducted workers were associated with Budhana’s group, while several others had earlier been affiliated with different political parties.
Addressing the gathering, Javed Ahmed Mirchal said that the National Conference has consistently stood by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, safeguarding their rights and identity during every challenging phase.
He emphasized that public welfare and addressing grassroots issues remain the party’s top priorities.
After formally joining the party, Khalid Shujaat Budhana stated that the National Conference is the only political platform that genuinely represents the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the party understands regional concerns, particularly those of the youth, better than any other political outfit. Budhana assured that he, along with his team, would work tirelessly to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Political observers and local residents believe that the induction of such a large and influential group will significantly strengthen the National Conference in the Karnah region.
In his concluding remarks, Mirchal reiterated that the doors of the National Conference are always open for the youth and that the party will continue working for the political and social upliftment of Karnah. (JKNS)
