Kulgam, Jan 11 (JKNS):Mission Drug-Free KulgamContinuing its unwavering drive to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Kulgam Police has intensified back-to-back actions against drug peddlers with the aim of achieving zero tolerance towards drug trafficking in the district.
In this connection, a police party from Police Station Qazigund, while on routine patrolling duty, spotted a suspicious individual at Nassu Badragund near the railway bridge. On noticing the police party, the suspect attempted to flee but was tactfully chased and apprehended by the alert police personnel.
During his personal search, the police recovered 08 grams of brown sugar like contraband substance from his possession. The accused has been identified as Azad Ahmad Naikoo, son of Sanaullah Naikoo, resident of Nassu Badragund.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 06/2026 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Qazigund, and further investigation is underway.
