Srinagar, Jan 15 (JKNS): Amid the evolving situation in Iran, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has designated a senior officer to coordinate with central agencies and diplomatic authorities to safeguard the interests of residents and students from the Union Territory currently in the country.
An order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) as per news agency JKNS, In view of the prevailing situation in Iran, Shri Anil Sharma, JKAS, Additional Resident Commissioner, Jammu & Kashmir Government, New Delhi, is hereby designated for coordination and liaison with the concerned agencies in respect of the residents and students of Jammu & Kashmir presently residing/studying in Iran.
The Officer shall coordinate and liaise with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, the concerned Embassy/Consular authorities and other relevant agencies, as may be required, to facilitate information sharing, coordination and necessary interventions relating to the safety, welfare, travel facilitation and related matters of the residents/students of the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir in Iran, reads the order.
