Srinagar, Jan 17 (JKNS): In a significant political development, Umar Farooq (Junaid) today formally joined the Apni Party in the presence of the party’s Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir Sahib.
Umar Farooq (Junaid), who was associated with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has previously contested Assembly as well as District Development Council (DDC) elections and is known for his strong grassroots connect and public outreach. On joining the Apni Party, he expressed full confidence in the leadership of Ghulam Hassan Mir Sahib and stated that the Apni Party represents pragmatic, people-centric politics focused on addressing the real issues and developmental needs of Jammu and Kashmir.
Welcoming him into the party fold, Ghulam Hassan Mir Sahib said that the induction of Umar Farooq (Junaid) would further strengthen the Apni Party at the grassroots level. He added that the party continues to attract committed political workers who believe in transparent, accountable, and inclusive politics.
Senior party leaders and workers, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Abdul Kareem Dar, Wani Abdul Ahad, and Engineer Abdul Ahad Wani, were present on the occasion.
The party leadership expressed confidence that Umar Farooq (Junaid)’s joining would reinforce the party organization and further enhance the Apni Party’s outreach in the region. (JKNS)
