Jammu, Jan 19 (JKNS): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chowdary on Monday strongly rejected the demand for a separate Jammu state, asserting that “no patriot can ever support or raise such a demand.”

Talking to reporters, as per news agency JKNS, Choudhary said, “Those who are demanding a separate state for Jammu are not working in the interest of the nation. They are running Pakistan’s agenda and acting as agents of the ISI to divide Jammu and Kashmir.”

He further stated, “Such elements cannot be true Indians. For the last three decades, Pakistan-sponsored militancy has tried to break Jammu and Kashmir, and now these demands are part of the same conspiracy.”

Emphasising unity, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, is one entity and must remain united. Any attempt to divide it will be strongly opposed.”

Referring to history, Chowdary said, “This land belongs to Maharaja Gulab Singh, Maharaja Hari Singh and Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. The unity of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be compromised at any cost.”

Reiterating his party’s stand, he added, “The National Conference has always stood for unity and integrity. We are Indians, and we will remain Indians till our last breath.” (JKNS)
