Bandipora, Jan 19 (JKNS): A massive fire broke out on Monday afternoon at Trigam Shadipora area of Bandipora district, reducing the second floor of a two-storey residential building to ashes. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
According to reports as per news agency JKNS, the blaze destroyed household goods and other valuables worth several lakhs of rupees, leaving the affected family in shock and distress.
Local residents alleged that they promptly contacted the concerned Fire Service Station at Sumbal, however, no fire tender arrived from there for unknown reasons. They further said that a fire service vehicle from HMT Srinagar reached the spot nearly two hours later, by which time the property and belongings had already been completely gutted.
The locals have appealed to the District Administration to provide immediate relief and assistance to the affected family. (JKNS
