Washington, Jan 19 (JKNS): US President Donald Trump has reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an invitation to join a high-profile international effort aimed at achieving lasting peace in the Middle East and redefining the global approach to conflict resolution.
According to news agency JKNS, in a communication issued from the White House to PM Modi, President Trump described the initiative as a landmark step toward ending prolonged conflicts, with special emphasis on the Gaza region, while setting the stage for broader global stability.
Trump recalled that his Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, unveiled on September 29, 2025, outlined a 20-point roadmap that garnered strong support from world leaders across the Arab world, Israel and Europe. He added that the plan received formal backing when the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2803 on November 17.
The US President said the focus has now shifted to implementation, with plans to establish ‘The Board of Peace’, a new international body and transitional administrative mechanism intended to guide the peace process and ensure long-term security.
Highlighting India’s role as a key global partner, Trump said the initiative would bring together a select group of nations ready to assume responsibility for fostering durable peace and investing in a stable and prosperous future.
He further noted that a meeting of participating nations, comprising prominent and respected global leaders, would be held in the near future to advance the peace initiative. (JKNS)
