New Delhi, Jan 19 (JKNS): Nitin Nabin on Monday emerged as the sole candidate for the post of National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the completion of the party’s nomination process.
According to a press statement issued by National Returning Officer for Sangathan Parv, Dr. K. Laxman, as per news agency JKNS, the election process was initiated after BJP completed the election of 30 State Presidents out of 36 States, exceeding the mandatory requirement of representation from at least 50 percent of the States.
Dr. Laxman said the schedule of events was notified on January 16, 2026, along with the publication of the Electoral Roll.
As per the programme, nominations were filed on January 19 between 2 pm and 4 pm, during which 37 sets of nomination papers were submitted in support of Shri Nitin Nabin.
He said all nomination papers were scrutinised and found valid and duly filled as per the prescribed format.
Following the withdrawal period, Dr. Laxman announced that only one name Nitin Nabin remained in the fray, making him the sole candidate for the post of BJP National President. (JKNS)
