Srinagar, Jan 22 (JKNS): In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old woman was found dead with her throat slit inside her house in the Mud Bagh area of Nowshera, Srinagar, on Thursday.
Officials suspect the involvement of her domestic helper, who has gone missing since the incident.
An official told JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Rashida Begum, wife of Lateef Ahmad Gangoo, a resident of Mud Bagh, Nowshera. “After receiving the information, police from Soura station reached the spot and took the body into custody for medico-legal formalities at SKIMS, Soura,” the official said.
Preliminary findings indicate that the woman’s domestic servant, reportedly from Assam, may have committed the murder before fleeing.
“The accused is reportedly absconding, and multiple teams have been constituted to track and apprehend him,” the official added.(JKNS)
