Srinagar, Jan 24 (JKNS): After triggering widespread snowfall across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, wetherman on Saturday said that dry weather condition are set to prevail for next two days.
Independent weather forcaster Faizan Arif Keng as per news agency JKNS said, the outgoing wester diaturbance has moved away of Jammu and Kashmir after giving few more inches of snowfall overnight in parts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipora and Kishtwar.
Rajouri town also witnessed a snowfall spell, which meteorologists described as a rare occurrence, Faizan said.
He said snowfall was reported from areas that had not witnessed snow for nearly a decade, attributing it to the strong cold air mass associated with the Western Disturbance that caused a sharp dip in temperatures even in otherwise warmer regions.
Giving forecast Faizan said that weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir are likely to remain largely dry over the next 48 hours.
However, another Western Disturbance is expected to approach the region from Monday afternoon, which may bring light to moderate rain and snowfall over parts of the Union Territory. (JKNS)
