Jammu, Jan 26 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday asserted that India has sent an unequivocal message to terror sponsors and perpetrators that any attack on its soil will be treated as an act of war and answered with firm and decisive action, declaring that the nation has drawn a clear and non-negotiable red line against terrorism.
Addressing the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day celebrations in Jammu, the Lieutenant Governor, according to news agency JKNS, described Operation Sindoor as a watershed moment in India’s national security framework, reflecting the country’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and protect citizens against all forms of terrorism.
Paying glowing tributes to freedom fighters, martyrs and security personnel, the LG said the sacrifices of the Indian Army, paramilitary forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police continue to remain the backbone of national unity, integrity and internal security.
He reiterated that terrorism, whether orchestrated from across the border or operating locally, will be dealt with decisively and neutralised completely.
Highlighting the transformation witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, the Lieutenant Governor said the Union Territory has entered a new era of peace, justice and development, where relief and dignity are being extended to terror-affected families and youth are being empowered through transparent recruitment, entrepreneurship and skill development initiatives.
He emphasised that government jobs and opportunities are being provided to the victims of terrorism and not to those associated with violence.
The LG also enumerated major achievements across key sectors, including sustained economic growth, unprecedented infrastructure development, enhanced rail and road connectivity, expansion of power projects, agricultural reforms, industrial growth, revival of tourism, education reforms, healthcare augmentation and women-led development.
He said Mission YUVA has emerged as a game-changer by nurturing entrepreneurship among youth, while digital governance reforms have ensured transparency and efficient service delivery.
Calling for collective resolve, the Lieutenant Governor urged citizens to remain united against terrorism and the growing challenge of drug abuse, expressing full faith in the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and appealing to all sections of society to contribute towards building a peaceful, progressive and prosperous Union Territory.
He concluded by extending Republic Day greetings to the people and reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive development, lasting peace and sustained progress in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
