Bandipora, Jan 29 (JKNS): Panchayat Conference Bandipora on Thursday convened a meeting at Nadihal in Bandipora district, which was attended by members of the district body of the Panchayat Conference.

The meeting was presided over by Panchayat Conference President Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Khan. DDC Member Ghulam Mohi Din, DDC Member Hajin A. Naza Begum, along with other members of the Panchayat Conference, were also present on the occasion.

The main objective of the meeting was to convey to the government that despite Bandipora being known for its high literacy rate, the district does not have a single university. The Panchayat Conference highlighted that the absence of a higher education institution has adversely affected students of the area.

During the meeting, the Panchayat Conference formally demanded the establishment of a Law University in Bandipora and urged the three sitting MLAs of the district to take concrete and immediate steps in this regard. (JKNS)
