Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 4 (JKNS): A media team from Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday called on Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Lok Bhavan here as part of a media tour organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Srinagar, under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Interacting with the delegation, the Kerala Governor said that Kerala and Kashmir share deep spiritual and cultural ties. He highlighted Kerala’s rich spiritual heritage and cited the establishment of Sharada Peetha in Srinagar by Adi Shankaracharya who was born in Kerala as a symbol of the historic bond between the two regions.
The media team appreciated Kerala’s warm hospitality, cleanliness, and efficient transport system, describing the state as exemplary in these aspects.
A team comprising two officials and 12 journalists met the Governor during the interaction. The Governor honoured the visiting members, while the media team presented him with a traditional Kashmiri shawl and a samovar.
The delegation was accompanied by V. Palanichamy (IIS), Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau, and Majeed Pandit, Media & Communication Officer, PIB Srinagar. The team also extended an invitation to the Governor to visit Kashmir before concluding the meeting. (JKNS)
