Qazigund, Feb 5 (JKNS): Security arrangements have been significantly strengthened along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), particularly in and around the Navyug Tunnel area of Qazigund, ahead of the visit of the Union Home Minister to Jammu and Kashmir.
As per news agency JKNS, The intensified security measures are being carried out under the direct supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (NHW) Qazigund, Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, who is personally monitoring the situation on the ground to ensure foolproof arrangements.
The deployment of security personnel is being led by the SDPO Qazigund, SHO Qazigund, and DO Navyug Tunnel, with additional police and security forces positioned at strategic points along the highway to ensure smooth, secure, and uninterrupted movement.
In addition to manpower deployment, advanced surveillance technology has been pressed into service. This includes the installation of wall radar systems and thermal screening equipment at the Navyug Tunnel to enhance real-time monitoring and threat detection capabilities.
Officials stated that the heightened security exercise is being implemented in compliance with the directions of SSP Kulgam, Anayat Ali Chowdhury (IPS). Authorities emphasized that the measures are purely precautionary, with the objective of maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of commuters as well as the VIP convoy during the high-profile visit.
