Kulgam, Feb 6 (JKNS): Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board and BJP National Executive Member Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Friday described the Union Budget 2026-27 as a visionary roadmap for Viksit Bharat, stating that it ensures long-term economic stability, inclusive growth and national self-reliance.

As per news agency JKNS, Andrabi interacted with media persons at the Dak Bungalow, Kulgam, on the Union Budget 2026–27.

She was accompanied by BJP District President Farooq Ahmad Rather, General Secretary Mubarak Ahmad Khanday, and other constituency presidents and party office bearers.

Addressing the media, Dr Andrabi said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Union Budget focuses on grassroots economic stability, infrastructure-led growth, and industrial capacity building.

She emphasized that the budget is not limited to a single fiscal year but is futuristic in nature, laying a strong foundation for India’s journey towards self-reliance.

“The Union Budget is a guarantee document for Viksit Bharat. It emphasizes strengthening domestic manufacturing, ensuring energy security, and reducing import dependence. Inclusive measures supporting employment, agriculture, household purchasing power, and universal services have been prioritised,” said Dr Andrabi.

She further noted that the budget targets an economic growth rate of over 7 percent, the highest among major global economies.
Highlighting allocations for Jammu & Kashmir, Dr Andrabi said that the Union Budget has increased the allocation for the Union Territory by ₹2,000 crore this year.

“The Central Government has announced ₹43,290 crore for Jammu & Kashmir, reflecting the Prime Minister’s strong and unwavering commitment to accelerating development and economic growth in the Union Territory,” she said.

Dr Andrabi also informed that ₹40,000 crore outlays under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme and the launch of India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 will significantly strengthen India’s global technological standing and establish the country as a semiconductor power in the coming years.

She added that new fast-track railway infrastructure, highways, and waterways will revolutionize India’s connectivity network.

Special emphasis on reforms in rural agriculture, healthcare, and education will yield long-term positive outcomes. Initiatives aimed at strengthening textiles, handicrafts, and rural livelihoods are expected to open diverse global markets.

Dr Andrabi concluded by stating that the spirit of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat is reflected across every sector of development envisioned in the Union Budget 2026–27. (JKNS)
