Baramulla, Feb 8 (JKNS): Baramulla Police, in its continued drive against drug trafficking, apprehended a person during naka checking on NHW near Eco Park.
In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, The accused was identified as Arshid Ahmed Sheikh, son of Mohd Maqbool Sheikh, resident of Fatehgrah. During his personal search, a charas-like substance weighing approximately 135.5 grams was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case has been registered vide FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been taken up.
Baramulla Police remains committed to taking strict action against those involved in drug peddling and appeals to the public for cooperation in ensuring a drug-free society. (JKNS)
