Srinagar, Feb 8 (JKNS): A tragic accident claimed the life of a truck driver in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday when the vehicle he was repairing reportedly rolled backwards and ran over him.
An official told news agency JKNS that, the truck was parked on the roadside along National Highway-44 near the Nipora–Vessu stretch when it suddenly started moving in reverse. The driver was caught under the vehicle and died on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Saqib Mohammad, son of Sadiq Mohammad Bakal, a resident of Udhampur.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (JKNS)
