Karnah, Feb 10 (JKNS): Amid heavy snowfall in the Jabdi (Bijaldhar) area of Karnah, located nearly 40 kilometres from Tangdhar, a patient was safely evacuated in a remarkable display of coordination, courage, and humanitarian spirit.

The hilly region has been experiencing continuous snowfall since last night, leaving roads completely blocked and inaccessible.

With vehicular movement impossible due to thick snow, rescue teams were forced to undertake the challenging operation on foot through treacherous terrain. The Indian Army played a pivotal role in the evacuation, carrying the patient on their shoulders to a safer location, demonstrating exceptional commitment and compassion.

Acting swiftly, the Karnah Administration mobilized all necessary resources and dispatched an ambulance along with a team of doctors, paramedics, police personnel, and officials from the R&B Department equipped with a JCB machine to assist in the rescue mission. Local residents also came forward to support the authorities, contributing significantly to the successful operation.

Officials stated that the coordinated efforts of the Army, civil administration, and local community ensured timely medical assistance to the patient despite extreme weather conditions. The incident has been widely appreciated as a powerful example of unity and dedication in the face of adversity.

The authorities have advised residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel as snowfall continues in the upper reaches of Karnah.(JKNS)
