Sopore, Feb 10 (JKNS): Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Sopore Police apprehended a drug peddler during night naka checking at Chotipora Hygam, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo, and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Inna statement issued here to news agency JKNS, During naka checking, the naka party of Police Post Pothkha intercepted a suspicious individual, who was later identified as Mohd Ramzan Gojree, S/O Jalal Din Gojree, R/O Chotipora Hygam. Upon his personal search, charas-like substance concealed inside a corn husk was recovered.
Accordingly, FIR No. 13/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo, and investigation has been taken up to trace the source and wider linkages involved.
Sopore Police reiterate their zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and reaffirm their commitment to protect youth and society from the scourge of drugs. (JKNS)
