Srinagar, Feb 11 (JKNS): Continuing its reform and public welfare initiatives, the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board on Wednesday inducted four modern, high-tech ambulances into its public service infrastructure, establishing for the first time a dedicated health emergency service network at four major shrines in the Kashmir Valley.
A brief ceremony was held at Hazratbal, where Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi formally inducted the fully equipped ambulances into service. BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul attended the event as Guest of Honour. Executive Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin and Imam and holy relic custodian Ghulam Mohiuddin Banday were also present.
Dr. Andrabi and Ashok Koul flagged off the ambulances, which will be stationed at Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar, Babarishi shrine in Tangmarg (Baramulla), Chrar-e-Sharief shrine in Budgam, and Aishmuqam shrine in Anantnag.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul lauded the Waqf Board’s transformation initiatives, terming it a role model for other institutions.
In her address, Dr. Andrabi said that development, transparency and public welfare remain the core principles of the Board.
She described the induction of advanced ambulances, equipped with modern medico-emergency facilities, as a dream project aimed at benefiting devotees and residents of adjoining areas.
Administrators of the Waqf Board, along with Imams and Khateebs, were present at the event. — (JKNS)
