Srinagar, February 13: Advocate Maroof Khan Political Youth Leader has voiced deep concern over the recent remarks made by MLA Vikram Randhawa alleging that “Kashmiri Muslims have encroached 90% of JDA land.”
In a statement issued today, Maroof Khan said that while issues such as encroachment must certainly be addressed with seriousness and transparency, attributing them to any particular community is neither fair nor constructive. “Encroachment is encroachment. It does not have a religion, a region, or a community. If there are violations, they must be dealt with strictly under the law but without generalising or collectively blaming any section of society,” he stated.
He emphasized that governance issues should remain within the framework of law and administration, not be framed in a manner that may hurt sentiments or create unnecessary divides. “Our words as public representatives carry weight. They must heal, reassure, and guide not risk deepening social fault lines,” he added.
Maroof Khan further said that Jammu & Kashmir’s strength lies in its shared history, coexistence, and mutual respect among communities. Reaffirming his commitment to communal harmony, constitutional values, and inclusive governance, he urged all leaders to exercise maturity and restraint in public discourse and focus on solutions that promote unity, fairness, and collective progress.
