Baramulla, Feb 13 (JKNS): Baramulla Police organised a Counter Narcotics Review Meeting under the chairpersonship of SSP Baramulla, to assess and strengthen the district’s ongoing efforts against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The meeting was attended by the ASP Baramulla, all SDPOs, SHOs, Police Post In-Charges, Investigating Officers dealing with NDPS cases, and other supervisory officers.
The meeting aimed at the eradication of the drug menace in District Baramulla, with special focus on ensuring quality investigation of NDPS cases, reviewing all under-investigation NDPS matters, and revisiting old commercial quantity cases to secure timely convictions.
During the meeting, deliberations were held on the status of NDPS cases, PIT NDPS proposals, property attachment, identification of hotspot villages, cannabis and poppy eradication drives, capacity building of field units, IEC awareness campaigns, CCTV monitoring of pharmacies, tracking of repeat offenders through ANTF/NIDAAN portals, and intensifying enforcement operations across the district.
The SSP Baramulla reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and directed officers to ensure timely investigation, strict action against drug networks, and enhanced community outreach to curb drug abuse.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment of Baramulla Police towards making the district drug-free through sustained enforcement and public cooperation. (JKNS)
