Colombo, Feb 15 (JKNS): India’s emphatic 61-run victory over Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash on Sunday drew widespread praise from political leaders across the country, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah remarking that while formats and venues may change, the result of the India-Pakistan contest remains unchanged.

Taking to X as per news agency JKNS, Shah congratulated the Men in Blue for yet another commanding performance in one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries. “Formats, places, and dates may change, but the result of #IndvsPak remains consistent. Congratulations to the entire team,” he posted.

Several leaders echoed similar sentiments, applauding the team’s clinical display. BJP National President J P Nadda termed it a “memorable victory,” lauding the side’s teamwork, determination and skill. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu praised Ishan Kishan’s brilliant batting effort and wished the squad continued success in the tournament.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said India dominated the contest “from beginning to finish,” while Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal described the team as “true Dhurandhars,” applauding their seamless coordination and powerful finish.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar called the win the “pride of a billion hearts,” highlighting disciplined bowling and sharp fielding as decisive factors. BJP leader Nitin Nabin also congratulated the team, offering special praise to Ishan Kishan for his match-winning knock on a challenging surface.

In the high-voltage encounter held in Colombo, India posted 175/7 in their 20 overs, powered by Ishan Kishan’s explosive 77-run innings. Pakistan, chasing 176, were bowled out for 114 as India’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure, sealing a comprehensive 61-run triumph.

The victory once again reinforced India’s dominance in ICC clashes against Pakistan and sparked celebrations among fans across the country. (JKNS)
