Pattan, Feb 15(JKNS): The Municipal Committee (MC) Pattan on Sunday conducted a mega cleanliness drive in the Main Market area, aiming to enhance sanitation and improve public hygiene standards.
As part of the initiative, sanitation workers, waste collection vehicles, and supervisory staff were deployed across the busy commercial hub. The team removed accumulated solid waste, cleared roadside drains, and eliminated illegal dumping points to ensure a cleaner and healthier market environment.
During the drive, shopkeepers and local residents were sensitized about proper waste segregation, timely disposal of garbage, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in commercial zones. The awareness campaign focused on promoting responsible waste management practices among the public.
Officials stressed strict adherence to municipal waste management guidelines and warned that action would be taken against individuals found littering or dumping waste at unauthorized locations.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir.(JKNS)
