Srinagar, Feb 18 (JKNS): Riding on a dominant bowling display and a composed run chase, Jammu and Kashmir scripted history by qualifying for their maiden Ranji Trophy final, becoming one of the standout teams of the season.
As per news agency Jammu Kashmir News Service (JKNS), J&K comfortably chased down the target of 126 runs to seal their place in the summit clash. The star of the match was pacer Auqib Nabi, whose remarkable nine-wicket haul dismantled the opposition and set the tone for victory.
The landmark achievement has triggered celebrations across Jammu and Kashmir, with cricket fans and public representatives lauding the team’s disciplined performance and steady rise in domestic cricket.
Reacting to the historic feat, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah congratulated the players and support staff for bringing pride to the Union Territory.
“On behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the team. This is a proud moment for all of us. The day is not far when we will see our talented players representing the national side,” the Chief Minister said while speaking to reporters.
