Kishtwar, Feb 22 (JKNS): An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Sunday, officials said.
Sources told news agency JKNS that a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation following specific inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the region.
As the forces zeroed in on the suspected location, the terrorists opened fire, which was retaliated to by the security personnel, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
Officials believe that two to three terrorists are trapped in the area. Further details are awaited as the operation is underway. (JKNS)
