Jammu, Feb 24 (JKNS): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has formally closed the departmental proceedings against Er. Jasvinder Singh, former Junior Engineer (Civil) in the Public Works (R&B) Department, following recovery of the entire outstanding amount.

According to Government Order No. 65-PW(R&B) of 2026 dated February 24, 2026 asper news agency JKNS, the regular departmental action had been initiated over alleged irregularities during his posting in the Estates Division, Jammu. The allegations included payments without proper maintenance of work registers, instances of double payments, advance withdrawals, and non-recovery of material costs.

A departmental inquiry had revealed that ₹1,74,990 was outstanding against the officer on account of materials such as TMT steel, PVC water storage tanks, CGI sheets and angle iron. The inquiry authority had recommended recovery of the amount prior to considering closure of the case.

As per the order, the retired official has deposited the full amount in the Government Treasury, and the same has been duly verified by the competent authority.

Following compliance and with approval from the competent authority, the disciplinary proceedings have now been officially closed by the Public Works (R&B) Department. (JKNS)
