Sopore, Mar 7 (JKNS): The 179 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a blood donation camp at its headquarters in Sopore to commemorate its 87th Raising Day. Around 30 units of blood were donated by CRPF officers and jawans during the camp.
As per news agency JKNS, The camp was organized as part of the unit’s efforts to serve the community and promote awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. The collected blood will be used to support patients at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore.
Speaking to the media, Commandant V.K. Choudhary said, “We celebrate our Raising Day by donating blood for humanity. Recently, the CRPF organized a grand ceremony to mark the Raising Day celebrations in Chhattisgarh.” He also thanked the SDH Sopore Blood Bank team, led by Imtiyaz Ahmad, Shafqat Yousuf and Javid Ahmad, for their cooperation and support.
Jawans of CRPF 179-Bn expressed happiness at being part of the noble initiative and said they were proud to donate blood for the welfare of the community.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Abhay Singh Bhatia, Deputy Commandant (DC) 179-Bn CRPF, and Dr. Javid Ahmad Bhat. (JKNS)
