Nagrota, Mar 9 (JKNS): Sainik School Nagrota (SSN) celebrated International Women’s Day with a series of vibrant and meaningful activities organised by the SSN Ladies Club under the leadership of Dr. Siji Shibu Joy, President, with the support of the Principal.
The celebrations highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, wellness, and community participation.
The programme commenced on 22 February 2026 with an energetic Zumba Fitness Workshop, where ladies of the SSN fraternity and girl cadets participated enthusiastically, promoting fitness, positivity, and collective spirit.
Continuing the momentum, Badminton matches were organised on 24 and 26 February 2026, bringing together participants in friendly yet spirited competition. The event encouraged sportsmanship, camaraderie, and active engagement within the SSN community.
A key highlight of the celebrations was an interactive workshop held on 01 March 2026, aligned with the United Nations theme “Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls” for International Women’s Day.
The session was conducted by Dr. Kavita Suri, Professor at the University of Jammu, and focused on women’s empowerment, gender sensitivity, and the collective role of society in advancing equality and inclusive development.
The celebrations culminated in a Grand Finale on 08 March 2026, where the ladies of Sainik School Nagrota came together to celebrate the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women in society.
The initiative reflected the institution’s commitment to fostering respect, equality, and empowerment while creating a supportive environment where women continue to inspire leadership, confidence, and positive change. (JKNS)
