Srinagar, Mar 10 (JKNS): The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar will be opened for visitors on March 16, officials said on Tueaday.
Director Floriculture Mathora Masoon confirmed to news agency JKNS that, it has been decided to open garden on 16th March 2026, i.e; Monday.
Details available with JKNS stated that, this year the garden will showcase around 1.8 million tulips of nearly 70–75 varieties, promising a vibrant and colourful floral display for visitors.
The department has increased the density of flower beds to enhance the visual appeal of the garden. “Earlier, around 30 to 35 beds would fit in a particular patch, details stated.
This year, we have increased it to more than 42 beds in the same space to make the display denser, more vibrant and more attractive for visitors,” details stated.
Notably, the Tulip Garden recorded an unprecedented footfall of 8,55,125 visitors during its 30-day opening period from March 26 to April 24, 2025, when more than 1.7 million tulips were in bloom, attracting locals, domestic tourists and international visitors. (JKNS)
