Bijbehara, Mar 10 (JKNS): Unknown burglars allegedly stole gold ornaments from a car parked in Bonpora Katoo area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district during the late evening hours of Monday, officials said.
Reports reaching news agency JKNS, the vehicle belongs to Naseer Ahmad Bhat, son of Gull Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Bonpora Katoo, Bijbehara. The incident reportedly occurred during Nimaz-e-Isha and Tarawih, when the car was parked at the spot.
Taking advantage of the time, unknown persons allegedly broke open the vehicle and fled with gold ornaments that had been kept inside it. The theft came to light after the owner returned from prayers and found the ornaments missing from the car.
Officials said that necessary action has been initiated in the matter and efforts are underway to identify and trace the culprits. Further investigation is in progress, they added. (JKNS)
