New Delhi, Mar 14 (JKNS): Government of India on Saturday said that India continues to maintain stable supplies of petroleum products across the country, with crude oil being sourced from more than 40 countries to ensure energy security.

Government officials as per news agency JKNS said that nearly 70 percent of crude oil imports are now routed through alternative routes other than the Strait of Hormuz, reducing dependence on a single supply corridor.

They said refineries across the country are operating at high capacity utilisation, in some cases exceeding 100 percent, while around one lakh retail fuel outlets remain functional with adequate stocks of petrol and diesel.

Officials further stated that the supply and availability of LPG remain normal across India, including remote and hilly regions such as Himachal Pradesh. Gas agencies are continuing regular deliveries, with many consumers receiving cylinders within two to three days of booking.

Authorities in several districts have confirmed that stock levels are sufficient to meet daily demand and the distribution network is functioning smoothly. Even in far-flung areas, LPG cylinders are being transported from bulk supply trucks to local distribution centres and delivered to households without disruption.

State governments and local administrations have also urged citizens not to believe rumours circulating on social media or resort to panic buying, assuring that the country’s energy supplies remain stable and well managed. (JKNS)
