Karnah, March 15: In a gesture of goodwill and community bonding during the holy month of Ramadan, units under the Shakti Vijay Brigade organised a grand Iftar gathering with local residents in the Karnah border area of Kupwara district.
The event was hosted by the Reshmar Regiment, Chamkote (Karnah), where a large number of locals, including community elders, youth and Army personnel, came together to share the Iftar meal. The gathering created an atmosphere of unity and brotherhood during the sacred month.
Residents from several villages of Karnah participated in the programme and appreciated the initiative. Locals said such events strengthen mutual trust and understanding between the Army and the local community while promoting harmony in the border region.
Army officials present on the occasion said the aim of organising these Iftar gatherings is to share the blessings of Ramadan with the local population and build stronger connections with people living in border areas. They also extended Ramadan greetings and wished peace, prosperity and stability for the region.
An official said that the Army plans to organise four Iftar gatherings with the local community during the month of Ramadan as part of this outreach initiative.
“These meaningful events help bring the Army and the people closer together,” the official said, expressing gratitude to the local community for their continued support and cooperation.
The programme concluded with prayers for peace, harmony and stability in the Karnah border area, reflecting a message of unity and cooperation between the Army and the local residents.
Ramadan, the Islamic holy month observed by Muslims around the world, is a time for spiritual reflection, prayer and community bonding. Through such initiatives, the Indian Army joined the celebrations in a spirit of goodwill and solidarity.
