Karnah: (JKNS)In recent days, an unusual rush has been witnessed at shops selling cooking gas, petrol and diesel in Karnah. The growing tension in the Middle East, particularly the situation between Arab countries and Iran, has created concern among the public. As a precautionary measure, many people have started trying to obtain LPG cylinders.
During this situation, reports of irregularities in the distribution of gas have also surfaced in some places. According to complaints from consumers, some people were allegedly provided with more than one gas cylinder, while others faced delays in receiving their supply.
Taking note of the matter, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Kupwara has issued a public notice. The notice states that there is sufficient stock of LPG available in the district. However, complaints have been received from some consumers regarding the availability of gas and delays in home delivery.
According to the department, to ensure transparent and systematic distribution of gas, different Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) have been assigned the responsibility of monitoring specific gas agencies in the district so that the supply system can be continuously supervised.
The notice further states that if any issue arises regarding booking, supply or home delivery of gas, consumers can contact the concerned Tehsil Supply Officer. All gas agencies have also been directed to ensure home delivery according to the fixed schedule so that consumers do not face any inconvenience.
The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration so that the distribution system of cooking gas across the district continues smoothly and transparently.(JKNS)
