Srinagar, Mar 16 (JKNS): A man accused of opening fire at former Farooq Abdullah, president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, has been remanded to seven days of police custody after being produced before a court, sources said on Monday.
Sources told news agency JKNS that the accused, identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal, was arrested in connection with the firing incident that took place earlier this week and was subsequently presented before the court for remand.
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the incident in Jammu, while further probe into the matter is underway. (JKNS)
