Srinagar, Mar 16 (JKNS): Extending warm greetings to the people on the sacred occasion of Shab-e-Qadr, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir spokesman Altaf Thakur on Monday said the holy night symbolizes reflection, forgiveness and spiritual renewal for Muslims across the world.
In his message, Thakur said Shab-e-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, holds immense religious significance as it marks the night when the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed. He said the occasion offers believers an opportunity to seek forgiveness, engage in prayers and strengthen their commitment to compassion, humility and service to humanity.
“On this sacred night, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the Muslim community. May this blessed occasion bring peace, prosperity and harmony to every household,” Thakur said in a statement.
He urged people to utilize the spiritually significant night in prayers and reflection, while also remembering the less privileged sections of society. According to Thakur, the teachings associated with Shab-e-Qadr encourage individuals to promote kindness, unity and mutual respect within society.
The BJP spokesman also appealed to the people to pray for lasting peace, stability and development in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the region has witnessed significant progress in recent years and collective efforts are needed to ensure continued growth and prosperity.
Thakur further emphasized that religious occasions such as Shab-e-Qadr serve as an opportunity to strengthen communal harmony and reinforce the values of brotherhood and coexistence.
“Let us all pray for a brighter future for our society and work together to build a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
