Avalanche Alert Issued for Ganderbal, Public Asked to Stay Away from High-Risk Areas

Ganderbal, Mar 28 (JKNS): The Deputy Commissioner/ District Magistrate Ganderbal, who is also Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), has issued an advisory warning of potential avalanche risk in the district over the next 24 hours.

According to the advisory, as per news agency JKNS, the Avalanche Forecast indicates medium intensity risk above 2400 meters in Ganderbal, prompting authorities to urge the public to remain highly vigilant.

People have been strictly advised to avoid venturing into avalanche-prone areas, including steep slopes, hilly terrain, and higher reaches, until further orders are issued. The administration has also appealed to residents, tourists, and nomadic communities to adhere to official guidelines and cooperate in ensuring public safety.
